Description

Hey everyone. Another fantasy illustration. I really wanted to do a piece with werewolves in so heres what I've come up with.
This is a night scene so the colours are very desaturated and the only lighting is coming from the moon and the lantern. Some parts were quite difficult to paint because I had to try and stop myself from using too much colour since it is a night scene.

Sketched and painted in photoshop using one of the wet media default brushes.

Wow, love the scene. The color is great as well. Keep up the good work Avantis!

Cool, it seems like you improve your skills! As mentioned, colours are great and so are the lightings. The depth of the scene is well rendered.
However, it seems there is a little perspective error on the foreground (the distance between the most threatening werewolf and the man looks too short as compared to their respective heights). minus 1 point for that.
Two other things I would have done differently: the hat looks weirdly worn (has to be a matter of style) and I would have liked to see the whole lantern instead of it being partly hidden by the second werewolf's hand. no point lost since it's a matter of taste ;)
Hope you get my awkward english! +8/9

thanks for the comments guys.

Excorbac - I agree with you, it could be the werewolves are alot bigger than the people, but I would be lying if I said that , yeh its an error. I agree with the lantern comment also, it disrupts the composition and maes it look awkward. I might go and change the hat.

Good stuff man. The lighting is cool :) I think Excorbac already covered the main issues, but one minor thing I would add is that you can't really see where the guy's other leg is. I'd probably have had his foot visible under his coat or something.

Phil - yeh i was thinking bout doing that, it looks like its non existant otherwise

Nice, subdued colors and paintwork. The werewolf on the left is my favorite. :)

great stuff..i love the fact that it's possible to see just by looking at the painting that it's yours. you have a very unique style. the perspective issues have already been mentioned, so i won't go there. but that's also the only thing i have to crit about this.

Great scenery, very dynamic. There are some problems however; You need to seperate your foreground and background elements much more. A good way to do this is to create a new layer, fill it with black, and set it to color. Now you can spot your values easier, and you can easily tell what needs to get darker or lighter.

Other than that, great job here.
